Tips and tricks
There are plenty of settings you can change if:
- The audio is not playing back smoothly.
The minimum requirements for realtime playback of mpeg audio on AMIGA is a 68030/40MHz. Less WILL NOT DO!
You can do the following:
- PPC owners
- Adjust the priority-settings.
- Adjust the file I/O buffer.
(The file I/O buffer-adjustment has noticeable effect when playing back songs from IDE-devices, and especially if these devices are being used by other applications at the same time as TMLG uses them.)
- 68060 owners
- Adjust the priority-settings.
- Adjust the file I/O buffer.

- 68040 owners
- Decoder-settings - Set frequency-division to 2.
- Decoder-settings - Check the 'Force mono' checkmark.
- Decoder-settings - Adjust the output-quality.
- Priority-settings - Adjust the priority-settings.
- AHI-settings - Select a less intensive AHI-mode.BR>
- Buffer-settings - Adjust the file I/O buffer.

- Decoder-settings - Set frequency-division to 4.
- Decoder-settings - Check the 'Force mono' checkmark.
- Decoder-settings - Set output-quality to LOW!
- Priority-settings - Adjust the priority-settings.
- AHI-Settings - Select a less intensive AHI-mode.
- Buffer-settings - Adjust the file I/O buffer.

- DO NOT(!) run any other CPU-intensive applications!
- The output does not sound very good.
This is probably because of the output-quality-setting.
You can do the following:
- Decoder-settings - Adjust the output-quality.
- AHI-settings - Raise the mixing-frequency.
- AHI-settings - Select a 'better' AHI-mode. Consult the AHI-documentation/Your soundboard-manual for information on this.
- You think that the GUI is too big and clumsy.
As this is the first release of TMLG, we haven't got any feedback from the outside world, and therefore the GUI reflects our taste :)
Actually, we think that it's very well made. Compact and everything.. And more to come ;-)
You can do the following:
- Misc/Layout-settings - Try out the small GUI.
- If you don't like either the big GUI with all controls and visualization or the small GUI with controls only, then go sit in a corner and wait for draco to finish skins-support (Hint: WinAMP skins and TMLG skins which are yet more flexible..) ;-)
- You don't like that the TAG-display is scrolling all the information all the time.
WHAT? You don't like it? Think! After all that work draco put into it! :)
You can do the following:
- Misc/Layout-settings - Try out the small GUI.
- Select a TAG different from 'Cyclic' in the TAG-chooser. (Main GUI.)
- .. And so on!
We need some feedback! Email the author, draco,
volmer, if you've got any tips and/or
suggestions!
